My mom can't afford to get sick

worried about his mom

I am in a situation right now where I have really decent health care. My copays aren’t that high, basically non-existent. But I have family members who are paying horrific amounts out-of-pocket.

I’m watching my mom going through it right now; she has a lot of medical issues. But she’s not going to doctor appointments. She’s not getting certain medications she should have because she can’t afford to get it. She can’t pay for it.

She’s only making about $30,000 to $35,000 a year, but by the time she’s finished with all her medical appointments, we’re talking $12,000 just in medical bills alone. That’s crazy.

It’s time for people to come together. Share knowledge. Share information. I don’t want to sound like a rebel, but when they did Occupy Portland, people protested. They got out and they said: “You know, we’re not going to take this. We’re not going to accept this.”

We have to come together in some way and unite because, right now, it’s pretty horrific. Hopefully it gets better.

“IT’S TIME FOR PEOPLE TO COME TOGETHER.”
